A preliminary conductivity-temperature study showed that the material behaves as a semiconductor. The observed conductivity i s high compared to that of other organic conducting materials. One possible explanation for t h i s behavior i s based on the fact that the nearest neighbor distance between a polydiacetylene and polyacetylene chain i s 4 Â.
